To further strengthen the supervision of key electrical equipment such as emergency diesel generator sets, the North China Nuclear and Radiation Safety Supervision Station of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has recently adopted a supervision model of "mechanical and electrical integration plus multi-professional collaboration".
It organized multi-professional supervisors across departments to jointly conduct an unroutine supervision and inspection on the manufacturing activities of the backup emergency diesel generator sets at Taipingling Nuclear Power Plant.
The emergency diesel generator sets of nuclear power plants are classified as nuclear safety electrical equipment by equipment category. However, such large-scale,system-level equipment covers multiple professional fields, including machinery, materials, welding, non-destructive testing, electrical engineering, and instrumentation and control.
In recent years, the North China Supervision Station has set up a northwest on-site supervision point and assigned multiple professional supervisors. Under the unified coordination of the project leader, it has carried out cross-department and multi-professional joint supervision.
This gives full play to the maximum joint force of the supervision team and provides solid guarantees for the construction quality and operation safety of nuclear power plants.
