Diesel generators must be safe, reliable, and convenient. When refueling a diesel generator, you should follow the following safety procedures:
1. Only refuel a factory diesel generator after the fuel valve is closed and the generator has cooled.
2. Do not remove the fuel filter during refueling to prevent dust, dirt, and other foreign matter from entering the diesel fuel.
3. Never refuel near smoking or flames.
4. Use diesel that meets national standards. Always monitor the fuel level during refueling and avoid spilling fuel onto the engine or muffler. If spills or leaks occur, wipe them clean before starting the generator.
5. After refueling, tighten the fuel tank cap.
If the amount of diesel refueled is small, allow it to settle for 48 hours before use. The diesel generator dealer should use a model that meets the standard specifications for the season. Refueling tools must be clean and designed for this purpose. The places where oil is refueled and stored should also be clean to prevent dirt from mixing into the fuel and accelerating the wear of the parts and reducing their service life.
